Since you were kind enough to post on my site, I figured I'd return the favour. I'm a liberal, and I'm sickened by the "pro-Palestinian" protests that sometimes erupt on my university campus. I believe in the Israeli state, more so than I think some conservatives do, but I think there needs to be a more nuanced understanding of the conflict than "pro-Israel" or "pro-Palestinian". Both need to have a homeland, and that can't take place without concessions from both sides. I think they are in a situation now where Israel is willing to be "less wrong" than the Palestinians, and that isn't conducive to peace. Israel must never give up its right to defend itself, but it must also look for openings that can help broker peace, especially with the coming Palestinian leadership change.
